Not As Good As #4

This disk is certainly authentic, occasionally distractingly so, but it doesn't capture the strangness, the other-worldly quality of Bangkok nightlife the way #4 in the series does. Part of the appeal of the earlier film was the sense of being drawn in, which is largely absent here. The absence is powerful, and, as a result the scenes are not as compelling. The several fine moments don't create a coherent whole. I hope to find more of the magic in earlier disks in the series.
