I understand that being picky about period details in a fuck flick is probably representative of my OCD but the one thing that bugged me here was the whole notion that the 1970's was nothing but afros, paisley and disco. Setting it in 1974 rings so false as the film is supposed to be at the height of the disco craze which really didn't happen until '76 or '77 and the idead that everyone was just hanging out wearing skin tight pants and body suits even while at work is preposterous. I guess I've seen Boogie Nights too many times.
The sex itself was pretty boring. It takes forever to set up the film and the conceit of the time machine is an interesting idea that should have been more fun. The first scene with Kat and Melissa Martinez features only sex with Martinez with Kat wasted on BJ detail. The threesome is BJ's only was, by definition, boring. The only scenes that really generate heat are the ones featuring star, Hilary Scott, who gets really sweaty talks dirty with both John E. Depth and Kurt Lockwood. The scene with Lockwood, however, goes on forever and gets a bit mundane towards the end.
True the 70's schtick gets old fast and so moving the action back to the present seems like a smart idea but if you're going to throw a time machine into already silly movie then why not put the characters in another era. It's not like the representation of the 70's was meticulously detailed so it wouldn't have been hard to go to the 50's or how about cavemen? I dunno the sum of all this movie's part simply equals boring.
Pros: Scott's dirty talk, fun concept
Cons: poor execution of fun concept, '70's business gets lame fast, less than exhilarating sex
